Barista Tip

For additional flavor enhancement, add a small amount of hot water to dampen your ground coffee and allow to bloom or 30 seconds before filling up the coffee press. You can also add cinnamon or vanilla to add some flavor to your coffee before brewing to enhance the flavor.

This French Press by Primula Products is well-made of stainless steel with a polished spout and vacuum sealed, double walled construction. The manufacturer invested serious money in a process to impact form or to deep draw stainless steel. The interior finish shows care in the build of the body. The handle is a wood grained material that feels like it was made in a mold and it has a soft, sort of rubbery feel to its surface to ensure a good grip while providing protection from heat. The knob on top of the plunger is made of the same material.The exterior is coated in a black, satin finish. The lid is also double wall stainless steel. The shaft of the plunger is steel and it rubs against the steel of the lid making a screechy sound. It would be smoother and quieter if the shaft ran through a bushing. The only long-term weak link might be the filter holder which has what appears to be a silicon rubber type material to act as a seal when the plunger is slowly pressed down to separate the grounds from the coffee while the coffee passes upward through the filter. The seal may be subject to wear over time.
